We have another midnight movie for you: The Last Days. A global epidemic descends upon humanity which causes a quick and painful death to anyone who ventures outside. Trapped indoors with the rest of the population of Barcelona, Marc (Quim Gutiérrez) sets out to find is girlfriend Julia (Marta Etura). But to find her, Marc must traverse a hellish underground labyrinth.
Spanish director/writers Àlex and David Pastor are probably best known in the U.S. for 2009’s underrated Carriers, and they’ve got another unusual gem here. “The Last Days may not represent the flashiest apocalypse story you’ll ever see, but there’s always something to be said for clever storytelling, good acting, and novel apocalypse tales.” — Scott Weinberg, FEARnet
